When should I book?
I say optimum time is between 33-36 just to be safe, but also a lot of pregnant Mums are exhausted in the final weeks and a photo shoot (even short) is the last thing they feel like!
In saying that I will happily welcome you in at any week pregnancy! If you feel about ready to pop and have just stumbled across these sessions, please don't hesitate to flick me a message to book! It is so worth it!

I feel so pregnant!?
The beautiful thing about these fine art sessions is that the focus is on light, dark and simplicity. I will direct you into comfortable poses that accentuate the beautiful growing belly. These are photos will be a reminder of how absolutely incredible your body is!
What about make up, hair, outfits?
My favourite thing about these sessions is they are sooo much easier to organise than a full lifestyle photoshoot.
Makeup: This is totally up to you! Majority of my clients do it themselves or come natural, the beautiful thing with maternity is we aren't focusing on that aspect. However absolutely book in hair and makeup if you want to, it will not detract from your images!
Hair: I have had messy buns, hair straight, blow waves, bobs and they all look stunnning! The way the light comes through hair, and the shapes in the silhouettes is one of my favourite things to work with.
Outfits: The focus is on simplicity
and lighting so whether you are comfortable in lingerie, tshirt, bra and jeans or active wear, we can make it work! I have some simple robes and drapery too.
I'm not photogenic? I have never done anything like this before.
I don't think I have had one person who has not said this and if the table was turned I think I would even feel a little bit uncertain! I absolutly strive to make you feel comfortable and confident.
I begin with a questionnaire which you will receive at booking. Here you have the opportunity to tell me any insecurities or worries that you have! This is important and .... information for me as I know how I need to pose you. These little things whether it be chins, no side profiles, legs, scars are easier to address at the photo shoot than edit later! There is absolutely no judgement, we all have them and I want you to feel completely safe and most importantly love the photos at the end.
When you arrive, I will inform you that we will only pose within your comfort level. But I will give you directions and encouragement 🥰
What does this cost?
Easy question! These sessions are currently $99 for 15 minutes and you will receive 3 photo downloads of your choice from an online gallery. You will also be able to purchase more of the gallery for $20 each.
Why a mini maternity session?
My aim is to offer an easy and more affordable option for Mum's to get photos of this special time.
Pixel Road fills the void between phone memories and the pricier lifestyle pregnancy sessions at $400+! And if you are really keen you could do all 3 options (phone memories, mini maternity AND a lifestyle session (also available through me!))!!
My point of difference is you are receiving a fine art image, without the fuss of time, outfit and location decisions!
Can my partner and/or kids come?
Short answer: Absolutely! There is an add on fee at booking to add extra people in your session.
Long answer: As we are in a mobile studio, space is a premium. I love capturing these special moments with parents and family. We generally do these at the beginning of the session, and then the family members wait outside or if it is just your partner they are welcome to stay in the studio.
Where are you based? Where will the session be?
I am based in Masterton. But with the Pixel Road trailer studio I can pretty much go anywhere (that has easy access and preferably not need to reverse lol!).
I plan to run these as typical mini sessions with multiple slots over a few hours. This means I could even make going to Wellington or Palmerston North feasible!
At the moment it is easiest if you come to me in Lansdowne until I find a secure spot to run these from.
Do you do group discounts?
If you have an antenatal group and want to organise me to come to you, I am happy to make an event booking. Enquire for more information and discounts. Please let me know how many would be interested.
A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.
